ABOUT THE ROLE
Board.Dev is seeking a dynamic and entrepreneurial Program & Community Management Specialist to join our mission to transform tech governance in the nonprofit sector. We are a lean team of builders and work best with fellow swiss-army-knife-types who are energized by a startup environment and the opportunity to grow quickly and deploy a wide range of skills.
For this role, we are seeking a minimum of 2 years of combined experience in Program Management plus one or more of the following areas: Project Management, Community Management, Professional Services, Account Management, and/or Marketing. We are open to experience from a variety of environments – from startups to nonprofits, corporate program management, and professional service firms.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Management:
- Draft clear and concise communications for executive-level leaders (senior technology leaders, Nonprofit CEOs and Board Members), including presentations, reports, and emails.
- Manage day-to-day delivery of programming for multiple simultaneous cohorts of employees from our corporate clients:
- Scheduling and coordination of program components;
- Producing and/or facilitating training webinars, group discussions, and other programming;
- Managing/Coordinating presenters and helping them to prepare for speaker panels and other events;
- Managing virtual community experience and communication channels for program participants (e.g., Slack, virtual office hours, LinkedIn, email)
- Develop and improve our program resources, including audience-tuned training materials and presentations (Google Slides and PowerPoint) for tech leaders and nonprofits.
- Drive positive participant experience by providing 1:1 support, proactively building connections with and between stakeholders, and implementing feedback cycles and mechanisms for participants.
- Event planning and execution: Manage planning and lead production of occasional in-person events for our cross-sector audience.
Professional Services, Account Management:
Provide the highest level of client service on a daily basis through strong project management and proactive account support:
- Prepare flawless work product (proposals, slide decks) for corporate clients, which include large technology companies and technology functions of Fortune 500 companies in a range of industries.
- Drive project management across multiple simultaneous client engagements, including preparing complex work plans and managing a range of tasks and project deliverables to tight timelines.
- Manage client communications, ensuring a rapid response to all incoming client messages and promptly handling or delegating related tasks.
- Facilitate efficient client meetings by preparing and sharing meeting agendas and briefing in advance and following up promptly with meeting report out and action items.
Marketing:
Seek to continuously refine our understanding of the needs of our key audiences (nonprofit executives and technology leaders), and to effectively communicate with them.
- Support completion of audience/user research. Work closely with Board.Dev leadership to identify research questions, and plan and conduct interviews, user surveys, and usability tests.
- Draft audience-tuned copy/content for social media and email campaigns.
EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES
- You are passionate about the tech for good movement and motivated by our mission to build tech capacity in the social sector.
- You are an excellent project manager/coordinator with a strong orientation to detail.
- You have superior verbal and written communication skills and can reliably deliver flawless written work product.
- You are relationship-driven and excel at communicating and building relationships with a wide range of stakeholders across sectors, including with senior executives in the social and corporate sectors.
- You are a doer who is energized by the opportunity to work in a startup environment and build alongside a lean team of experienced entrepreneurs and nonprofit executives with deep cross-sector networks.
- You have a no-task-is-too-small mentality and welcome a balance of opportunities to both join in strategic discussions and handle the small details of program administration.
- Preferred:
- Experience delivering high touch programs or projects for corporate clients.
- Experience engaging with senior leaders in the technology sector.
